And alas I was struck a fatal blow as I have ever known.
The pain that ensued from that encounter I shall surely carry upon my heart and my back until deaths embrace takes me.
She was what words will never say all I may say is that where once I would pray for love and joy there she was providing both in spades and yet I was merely the piece the pawn the toy.
Oh how I miss that evening shrouded in fog and cloaked in gentle moonlight where my first kiss reshaped how I would see this world.
Often times curiosity gets the better of me and my dreams wander even in the daylight to what could have been had my pride not damned me to a life of insecurity.
Nay not often this dream comes quite constantly when I merely quiet the beating heart of my own present existence it is more so a fleeting wish than anything really for I know deep down her love of me burnt out quicker than the candle I placed so gently on the rooms meager night stand.
With 4 bright wicks it burned brightly challenging the darkness to bow before the light just as we challenged the world with ideals audacious ideals of love daring to stretch into the abyss and rend it out of our path.
And so I digress to this wound of mine time love shall never dare be so bold as to try and heal it. Friends dear of mine have made the pain bearable even dulled it to the point where I hardly noticed the pulsing scar shamelessly carved down my chest. But I grow restless every eve trying to conceive the reasons why I may never kiss her lips again hold her in my arms and feel as though heavens angels would be envious of me. Love is such a delicate flower it pains me to see those who throw it away so carelessly.
